Why Join One?
I have a W/Mo 18 (Carver Blackwood: Weapon du jour/Smiter) and I'm often asked to join, or "Why haven't you joined yet?" as I run around.
My friends and I have one question: What are the benefits to joining a guild? This is the first Online RPG we've played and we don't know why we should join a guild. I'm just unaware of the answers, I don't know what it would require of me once I join, and I don't know what I would gain. TIA |

Well, there's a lot of answers to that, and for the most part you have to answer it for yourself. Everyone joins guilds for different reasons. Some join for casually playing, which I might recommend to you, because those sorts of guilds are layed back, and not too organized as far as playing goes. Other guilds, mainly PvP ones(and good ones at that) may require you to do certain things, and I've *heard* of teams that have regular practices to keep them sharp in the HoH. Those kinds of guilds are hardcore with their playing...so you might want to back away from those(for now).
Anyways, you pretty much just have to ask yourself what you would want in a guild, and join a guild that suits those needs. The guild I'm in is just a bunch of people who get on, play together, help each other out and have a good time without getting hardcore with PvP(yet...but one day we shall!!!) |

the most apparent benefit: you wont get more invitations
well, guildmates tend to help each others out. you may get free runes and items from higher level guildmates. u can also form parties easier, and it works better because they have similar interests with you. it all depends on what guild you join tho... i do recommend you ask about whether they do pvp and/or pve, and are they casual players. you can leave the guild if u don't feel good about them, but you should experience it yourself, whether you like it or not. |

The right guild can vastly improve your gaming experience in all areas. There's really too many to list, but I highly suggest them. Although, you need to find the right guild for you - or it won't work well. IMHO, guilds are meant for the experience - not for to be "133t" or anything else. If you find a guild with people you really like, you'll be there for a long time always enjoying yourself. It's not the destination that matters ... it's the adventure! Rape and pillage now instead of staying home wishing you were out!
Note: Guilds rock, look into them Good luck with your future search. Good luck, have fun, don't die! Ascension |

Join a guild! Playing an MMO without a guild is like drinking alcohol-free beer!
